The physical therapy and occupational therapy team show they care and encourage you. There are activities every day to keep you busy, but if you have the therapy they want you to go to therapy instead. This place looks fantastic from the outside but it is a horribly run facility with Unit Managers who are unable to communicate and provide direction to the staff. They provide noodles and broccoli to a diabetic; no protein. Specifically, the Nurse Unit Director/Manager has no clue what the staff is doing and could care less the care or lack of care the patients are receiving. She will not discuss the care of your loved one via phone and is inept in providing feedback as to why your loved one has not been given the care the hospital discharged them with.
We are not demanding people, but there comes a point when unexceptable care day after day is enough. There is not enough staff to care for the needs of these patients. If your loved one has a communication impairment or physical impairment they are left to their own devices. I fear for the safety and well being of those residents that do not have family members sitting with them every waking second.

This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Lastly, despite not having the most impressive total nursing hours per resident, this facility actually performed admirably in the metric of preventing major falls. This is often an indicator that a place has sufficient quality controls in place. Regency At Canton received an overall rating from CMS of 5 stars compared to the MI average of 3.47 and a National average of 3.32. Ratings from residents, family members, and visitors to our site are available below.

When you think "nursing home," what usually comes to mind is a place for people who need long-term medical care. That's true of our nursing home, but we also offer short-term help for people who just need to get back on their feet after an illness or injury. Whatever your specific needs, our goal is to provide compassionate care in a clean, comfortable setting where you will feel at home. Some nursing homes support memory care for patients with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Nursing homes may accept Medicare and/or Medicaid payment. My terminally ill mother was at Regency for 3 weeks.
Each morning we found my mom soiled and sitting in a wet bed. The cafeteria would wheel the food cart down the hall and let it sit. The therapists would apologize and were embarrassed at the lack of care, but nothing was done. After call corporate twice, we resorted to contacting the state.
Skilled nurses, therapists and licensed care professionals are available to guide you through your personalized therapy. Whether you’re recovering after a hospital visit or in need of on-going medical support, Regency at Canton will help you achieve your personal goals. I was in the hospital and the Regency at Canton called me three times. They wanted me to come for rehab and building my strength back up. The staff is great, except for the physical therapy department. They are kind of pushy when you are not feeling good and I don't think you should constantly push a person when they're not feeling good.
Lastly, we considered the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 6.6 percent of this facility's residents returned home. At most nursing homes, closer to half of their residents are able to return home so this figure is below average.

Additionally, they provide various property features that include a swimming pool, a fitness center, high speed internet, a book collection, and a community dining room. As a premier assisted living destination in North Canton, expect top-tier memory care services provided by gracious staff members who care about our North Canton community. At Canton Regency, we aim to provide compassionate care for independent living, assisted living, and memory care services throughout North Canton. Skilled nursing facilities, or SNFs, provide short-term 24-hour medical care. SNFs help older adults recover from illness or injury with medical care, physical therapy, and other rehabilitative services.
Call lights were not answered in a reasonable amount of time . According to the facility she was to get 2 per week. When I asked, they would say she was on the schedule and never came around.

Karen has been with The Canton Regency for over 20 years and is our Dining Room Supervisor. She is a dedicated, caring, and full of life person who brings joy to our residents. There is a clique of evening shift staff that convert empty patients' rooms into hang-out rooms and close the door so people can't see them, and obviously they don't answer the calls during this time. I always felt bad for the aides who aren't part of the clique, as they try to cover their own patients and because they care about the patients, they will also cover the other aides' patients too. I assume that nothing is done about this because of fear of retribution and a bad evening manager. Obviously, whoever is managing the night shift (7-9pm crew) is bad. Also, when my grandmother moved in to her "clean" and "ready" room, I decided to check the nicely made bed. The bed sheets had what appeared to be blood in them and an old bandage.

Nurses very slow at responding to patients when they hit there call button. I was there one day 5 people at nurses station lights and alarm going off and no one got up to answer. Nurse partitioner came to see her and when my mother told her she wasn't doing well and mentioned a couple she said which she should have just addressed it not said that to her. Which really bothered and upset my mother with her tone and my mother didn't eat that day. If you put a loved one there stay in top of nurses and aids and make sure you visit daily to show your presence.
